Patient Rights & Responsibilities

Your Rights as a Patient
- Receive respectful, dignified, and compassionate care at all times
- Be fully informed about your diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis in understandable language
- Give or withhold informed consent before any procedure
- Have your privacy and confidentiality protected
- Access your own medical records
- Have a family member or representative informed about your care
- Receive care regardless of nationality, religion, gender, or social status
- Make complaints and receive a response without fear of it affecting your care
- Receive pain management and palliative care as appropriate
Your Responsibilities as a Patient / Family
- Provide accurate and complete medical history and information
- Follow the treatment plan agreed with the medical team
- Respect visiting hours and ICU guidelines
- Treat all staff, patients, and visitors with respect
- Not bring food, drinks, or personal items into the ICU without permission
- Ask questions and seek clarification rather than acting independently on medical matters
- Inform staff of any changes you notice in the patient's condition
